I live in South Western Ontario where I was born and raised and work full time as a studio painter. I decided in 2007 that becoming a painter was a passion I could no longer ignore. I taught myself to paint through a dedicated practice. In the beginning I worked from photographs but have now moved towards work intuitively and from memory which allows me to focus on creating an image that will convey my love of simplicity and evoke a sense of calm to the viewer.
My subject matter is predominately the Great Lakes.
Inspired by the ever-ending motion of blues, greens and greys, these elements, along with nostalgia, give me what I need to translate my intention.
Painting gives me the balance I need.
I start each day with gratitude.
